It’s Fraud Prevention Month and we are taking time each day this week to highlight a specific scam targeting people in the province.
Sgt. Ed Sanchuk with the West Region OPP says one popular scam that tricks a lot of people is called “spoofing.”

Audio PlayerSanchuk said, regardless of who is asking, always have follow up questions if money is requested – especially immediately.
Another indicator is how they are asking you to pay.
