As Fanshawe College St. Thomas-Elgin Regional Campus prepares for its upcoming Open House on March 29th, prospective students have the opportunity to explore programs that can set them on the path to fulfilling careers.
This includes Pre-Health Science, designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge needed to pursue further studies in health-related fields.
Wayne Miller, Program coordinator, explains that the two-semester, 30-week program serves as a bridge for students aspiring to enter competitive health career programs.

Audio PlayerAnd many of those health career opportunities are available through other programs offered directly at Fanshawe adds Miller.
Audio PlayerJennifer Ewans, a professor and coordinator at Fanshawe, echoed the program’s success, sharing personal encounters with former students now working in the healthcare field.
Audio PlayerAnd it’s not just nurses who come out of the program.
Audio PlayerA significant advantage of studying at Fanshawe’s St. Thomas-Elgin Regional Campus is the smaller class sizes.
Unlike the larger London campus, which may have up to 300 students in Pre-Health Science, St. Thomas limits its class sizes to around 50.
Ewans also emphasized the academic support available.
Audio PlayerMiller added that this includes free, drop-in math help, available to students who may need some extra assistance.
Audio PlayerLooking ahead to the Open House, both Miller and Ewans will be present to answer questions and offer insights. Attendees will learn about articulation agreements with institutions like Brock University and the University of Guelph, which provide pathways to undergraduate programs.
The Fanshawe College Open House runs on March 29th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Thomas-Elgin Regional Campus.
