With March now here and bringing with it some warmer weather, the city of St. Thomas is reminding residents about fishing regulations at Lake Margaret.
Staff note that fishing is prohibited on Lake Margaret from March 1st to June 30th. There is also no fishing permitted at any time behind homes, close to trails, or in Jim Waite Park.
City Bylaw enforcement officers along with the Ministry of Natural resources do conduct regular patrols, insuring residents are following the proper protocols.
Elsewhere, swimming in Lake Margaret at any time of year is a no go, with both No Swimming and No Fishing signs clearly posted around the lake.
You are reminded that non-motorized, recreational boating on Lake Margaret is permitted.
