Numbers were quick to come in after the polls closed in Ontario, and once again Doug Ford will be Premier.
Ford’s gamble on an early election has paid off, having successfully secured his third straight majority government.
News outlets made the call just after polls closed at 9 p.m.
With all polls across the province now tabulated, Ford received 42.97% of the vote, securing 80 seats.
Just 63 seats are needed for a majority.
Ford says he will work with governments at every level and of every political stripe to fight the Trump tariffs and shore up Ontario’s economy.
The NDP will again form the official Opposition, though with a reduced seat count. The Liberals improved their 2022 performance by six seats.
Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie framed the night as a win, though she did not secure a seat herself.
