As part of our ongoing and thorough coverage of the Ontario election, we extended an invitation to all seven candidates running in Elgin-Middlesex-London to come to the 94.1 myFM studio for a personal interview spotlighting their party and platform as it relates to issues in the riding.
Six candidates accepted our invitation and their interviews have aired on myFM and you can read and hear them here.
However, we have not had a response from the Ontario Party and their candidate Cooper Labrie.
According to the Ontario Party website, “Our core belief is Ontario Sovereignty—ensuring that Ontario, not Ottawa, dictates its own future. To achieve this, we will introduce the Ontario Sovereignty Act, allowing the province to reject harmful federal policies. Additionally, we will establish a Banking Bill of Rights to protect financial independence and demand the same Income Tax arrangement as Quebec to enhance our fiscal autonomy.
“We also believe in direct democracy through referendums, enabling Ontarians to have a decisive voice in shaping the province’s policies. This platform is a bold vision for an independent, prosperous, and secure Ontario.”
