It truly is your hospital and now the administration at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is hosting a pair of public engagement sessions.
To give you a sense of the complexity of hospital operations, it relies on over 1,300 staff, physicians and volunteers to keep the 179-bed medium-sized facility functioning.
In the 2023-24 fiscal year, there were 831 births, 9,850 surgeries, 1.9 million lab tests, 19,467 outpatient/clinic visits and nearly 60,000 emergency visits.
Of those emergency visits, 10 per cent of the individuals come from London.
The public engagement sessions are your opportunity to find out more about the hospital and the road ahead, advises President and CEO Karen Davies.
It is important that area residents see and feel that that the administration is transparent and wants to engage with the community, stresses Davies.
Learn more about what transpires inside the four walls of the hospital.
The sessions are hosted by Davies and the executive team.
Not only to inform but to be available to answer your questions.
There are two Zoom sessions scheduled for noon and 7 p.m. on Wed. Feb. 5.
