At a ceremony Thursday at the CASO station in St. Thomas, MP Karen Vecchio and MPP Rob Flack awarded 26 individuals in Elgin-Middlesex-London the King Charles III’s Coronation Medal.
The Canadian commemorative medal was created to mark His Majesty King Charles III’s Coronation on May 6, 2023.
The King Charles III’s Coronation Medal recognizes 30,000 Canadians “who have made significant contributions to the country, a province, territory, region or community, or an
achievement abroad that brings benefit or honour to Canada.”
Vecchio stressed, “Our riding is a much more prosperous place with citizens like our recipients,. I am honoured to bring recognition to 26 individuals who are unsung heroes in our community.”
Flack added, “Their extraordinary contributions should be recognized, and this award is a way to thank them for their work and efforts to improve the lives of those around them.”
