A Port Burwell resident started the new year off with a bang by winning the OLG Instant Big Money Pay Day top prize of $300,000 the day before his birthday.
“Since moving, I’ve had a strong gut feeling I would win,” Terry Karas said. “The words ‘Pay Day’ at the top of the ticket jumped out at me, so I decided to pick one up. I played the ticket in my truck and was left in shock when I realized I’d won! All I could say was ‘Wow!’”
Terry, a father of two and grandfather of four, is a retiree who has been playing the lottery for 20 years. He plans to invest, buy a truck, and share his winnings with his kids.
“I thought, ‘This can’t be real! How did I choose this ticket at the time I did?’ There are so many good things I can do with this prize—the possibilities are endless! The feeling of winning is incomprehensible and unbelievable,” Terry explains.
“This is one heck of a present and the perfect way to start 2025.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Valley Variety on Plank Road in Vienna.
