The union representing Ontario’s college faculties says it will be in a legal strike position as of Jan. 4th.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) said last week that mediation with the colleges’ bargaining agents earlier this month was unsuccessful and raised concerns about potential erosion of working conditions, job security and quality of education.
The College Employer Council said mediation with the faculty union is scheduled for Jan. 6 and 7.
OPSEU would have to provide five days’ notice before going on strike.
