A 28-year-old St. Thomas resident faces several charges including robbery with violence after a shoplifting incident Tuesday afternoon.
City police were called to a Wellington Street store where the suspect had left without paying for items. An employee attempted to stop the person but was threatened with a knife.
Police located a vehicle matching the description on Third Avenue with the suspect in the back seat. When asked to identify themselves, they provided a false name.
They were charged with robbery with violence, obstructing police and failing to comply with probation.
