The St. Thomas Downtown Development Board is back with another local event this Saturday- this time transforming Talbot Street into a realistic German Oktoberfest.
This will be the 2nd Annual Downtown Oktoberfest, with something planned for everyone of all ages.
myFM had the chance to speak with Sarah Lynch, Downtown Development and Engagement Officer with the St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation about what the DDB has in store for the community.
She first explains how this new tradition in St. Thomas came to be!
The fun kicks off in the downtown core at 2 p.m., with the taps set to close at 9. Lynch explains where everything will be set up.
And you’ll have a hard time figuring out what to do first, with a jam packed day planned!
Some extra exciting news was shared on Wednesday- as the Mayor of Salzgitter, Germany, alongside our own Joe Preston, will assist the German Canadian Club as they roll out the barrel and share about some of the traditions of Oktoberfest! This is set to take place around 2:45 p.m.
There will be so much to do and see, thanks to the dedicated group making it happen adds Lynch.
