It’s a sure sign that summer is on the way when the St. Anne’s Community Festival makes its return to St. Thomas.
Now in its 51st year, the event that brings “4 Days of Family Fun” to the city is back this week- June 5th through 8th.
We caught up with Festival Co-Chair Mike McLaughlin who breaks down the history of this beloved local event.
Which for the committee and community alike, is a win-win adds McLaughlin.
He explains that most of the activities and attractions festival-goers have come to expect will return this year, thanks to their partnership with World Finest Shows.
For those hoping to take in the attractions, discounted Pay-One-Price Ride Wristbands can be purchased in advance up until June 4th on their website. McLaughlin does note that bracelets will be available on the grounds for purchase, however at an increased cost.
Also returning this year notes McLaughlin is something they weren’t able to run during the past couple festivals.
Something new for 2024 is a visit planned by the Canadian Raptor Conservatory, with three free shows taking place Saturday shares McLaughlin.
In addition to the rides and games- live entertainment, loonie bingo, a 50/50 raffle, bake sale and more will be running throughout the festival.
McLaughlin also reminds festival-goers about the charity dinners they have planned.
To stay up to date on everything taking place over the 4 days- visit the festival website.
The St. Anne’s Community Festival will run Wednesday to Friday from 4 to 11 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. at 20 Morrison Drive!
Please note that the grounds are both smoke free and pet free.
