The province’s police watchdog is investigating after a 48-year-old Aylmer man was seriously injured Monday evening in a motorcycle crash.
Just after 7:30 p.m., an Aylmer Police officer attempted to stop a motorcyclist driving erratically on Talbot Street West.
The motorcycle sped away northbound on Elm Street. Police did not pusure him and he eventually crashed at the end of the street. Officers conducted a search for the driver and located and arrested him a short distance away from the collision.
As a result of the collision he suffered a serious injury, resulting in the Special Investigations Unit invoking its mandate.
He has been charged with:
· Dangerous operation
· Failure or refusal to comply with demand
· Fail to stop when signaled or requested to do so by police officer.
