1Password Park is looking at having substantial completion of the facility done by the early part of September. Seeding and sod laying is planning to be completed within the next 3 – 4 weeks.
The project has lost 110 construction days due to weather thus far.
The field house, splash pad, playgrounds, basketball courts and artificial field is planned to be ready for usage by the fall.
Director of Parks and Recreation Ross Tucker says that despite the setbacks the project is starting to take shape.
Tucker says that while they anticipate allowing play on the artificial field in the fall, play on the grass fields will have to wait until next spring. A grand opening is being planned for sometime in September.
Once complete the facility on Burwell Road north will see 36 different sized soccer fields, an artificial turf CFL field, basketball courts and more brought to the City.
