The return of the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni to St. Thomas is less than a month away and the excitement is building.
Fan favourites like Wendel Clark and Al Iafrate will be on the ice at the Joe Thornton Community Centre April 20 to take on the St. Thomas Police Service.
Iafrate told myFM playing and travelling with the Leafs Alumni is “an awesome opportunity.”
Iafrate is very familiar with Stay True Tattoo in St. Thomas.
The former Toronto defenceman thus jumped at the chance to return to the city April 20 with the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni for the charity game presented by Stay True Tattoo.
It is all for a good cause, stresses Iafrate.
He adds there is nothing quite like playing professional hockey for a Canadian NHL team.
He spent seven seasons with the Maple Leafs and for some time held the record for the fastest slap shot in the NHL.
All proceeds from ticket sales and auctions will directly benefit vital mental health and addiction initiatives in St. Thomas and Elgin County provided by CMHA Thames Valley Addiction & Mental Health Services.
