St. Thomas Police advise the suspect in a stabbing incident early Saturday morning has been arrested.
Fifty-four-year-old Jeff Church attended the city police station on Tuesday to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
He was held in custody on the charges pending a Wednesday morning court appearance.
Just after midnight Saturday, St. Thomas police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a disturbance in the area of Scott and Hamilton streets, where an altercation had occurred involving two individuals known to each other.
The victim was taken to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for treatment of multiple stab wounds. His injuries were listed as serious but non lifet-threatening.
