Southwestern Public Health has issued its first cold weather alert of the winter.
The health unit issues these alerts when when Environment Canada forecasts an air temperature of -15C or lower or a wind chill of -20C or lower.
Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures as low as -15C and -20C with the windchill in the region through to Thursday morning.
