The provincial government has lowered the age eligibility for self-referred mammogram appointments across Ontario.
The change is set for next fall, and will see the age threshold drop from 50 to 40.
Minister of Finance Peter Belthlenfalvy says this decision carries significant importance.
The province estimates the changes will help more than 305,000 people and add 130,000 mammograms per year.
You can refer yourself for a publicly funded mammogram through any Ontario Breast Screening Program website.
