Police services in St. Thomas, London, Chatham-Kent and Windsor along with the OPP Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team partnered to execute Project Breakout.
On Oct. 4 search warrants were executed at four locations in London and St. Thomas and another four in Chatham resulting in the arrest of 7 individuals and the seizure of nearly $1 million worth of fentanyl, other drugs and several weapons.
St. Thomas Police Chief Marc Roskamp noted in a release, “This is another example of the significant work that is being done every day in our region to disrupt the drug trafficking network. We will continue to invest resources to remove these threats from our communities.
“Organized crimes where firearms and drugs are trafficked through to innocent communities present as immeasurable risks to all of us. Our region and our respective communities are safer with these offenders off our streets.”
In total, 87 charges were laid.
Four individuals were charged with numerous drug and weapons offences and released with future court dates. Three males were held for bail and subsequently remanded into custody.
