The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in after an injury was sustained during an arrest in the city Tuesday.
St. Thomas Police note that during a traffic stop around 12:40 p.m., a male driver exited the vehicle and engaged the officers.
He then attempted to flee the scene, before ultimately being detained and taken into custody.
As a result of the interaction with police, a serious, but non-life threatening injury was sustained by the subject.
The man was transported to hospital.
