On International Women’s Day we are asked to imagine a gender equal world and take steps to bring that closer to reality by embracing equity.
Pamela Cross, feminist lawyer says entrenched challenges are slowly being overcome.
Cross says we’re seeing more and more people engaging in the effort to make equity a reality, and that’s encouraging.
She adds even though there’s much work to be done, she sees movement in the right direction.
Cross says she feels more like a province-wide community of people who want to craft a solution since the inquest into the femicide of three women in Renfrew county vowed to have far-reaching consequences across the entire province.
That inquest came up with more than 80 recommendations for the province to help it end Intimate Partner Violence.
Today, you’re invited to celebrate women’s achievement, and raise awareness about discrimination.
