Gas prices are continuing to climb and there’s no doubt it’s having an impact on the pocket books of local drivers.
With gas sitting around $1.83 to $1.88 a litre in the area and diesel topping $2, myFM hit the streets of St. Thomas to find out how residents are coping with the wild increases.
Residents note that the gas increase is just the tip of the iceberg, as the inflation of others goods makes it difficult to even get by.
And analysts expect most regions in Ontario to see over $2 a litre in the near future as sanctions on Russia get tighter.
Ontario Energy Minister Todd Smith says they are looking at ways to lower costs for drivers, and is calling on the federal government to pause the planned increase to the carbon tax on April 1st.
