As we prepare to cast our votes in the Federal Election later this month, myFM is introducing you to the local candidates running in Elgin-Middlesex-London.
Afeez Ajibowu represents the Liberal Party of Canada.
He emigrated to Canada with his family from Nigeria and now resides in London. He says the riding needs forward-moving representation with a commitment to an economic recovery plan, infrastructure funding and high-speed internet for rural communities.
He says that can only happen when the riding has a Liberal voice on Parliament Hill.
He leads the IT Projects and Training unit for Thames Valley District School Board.
The first-time candidate stresses it is time to seriously address the housing crisis in the riding, with a focus on availability and affordability of housing.
Ajibowu says it is a case of many families being housing poor.
The father of three daughters, he currently serves on the Board of the London Family Court Clinic and is passionate about education.
Afeez points to his broad business background and his executive certifications in entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School as strengths he would bring to the table in Ottawa.
Turning to the important agriculture sector in the riding, Afeez points out farmers are struggling with their ability to safely secure temporary foreign workers.
Afeez is strong in his conviction that he and the Liberal party are the best choice to represent the people of Elgin-Middlesex-London on Parliament Hill.
