The Tokyo 2020 Olympics have sadly come to an end, but for St. Thomas Goalball player Emma Reinke, that means the fun is just beginning.
Reinke and the rest of the Canadian Women’s Goalball Team boarded a plane Sunday to British Columbia, with their final destination being Tokyo for the 2020 Paralympic Games.
Although the preliminary rounds do not kick off until August 25th, Reinke and her team will be spending the next 2 weeks in Japan before she makes her Paralympic Games debut.
When myFM spoke with Reinke she noted how excited she was that the games are moving forward as planned.
The Railway city native is also looking forward to representing the city on the Paralympic stage.
She adds that she hopes to inspire some future goalball players as she does so.
The Paralympic Games will be running from August 24th to September 5th.
