After a successful return to duty early Friday afternoon, the King George VI lift bridge was the victim of a glitch several hours later, to the dismay of residents, merchants and visitors.
However Brian Lima, Elgin county’s engineering services director, says the electrical problem was rectified in prompt fashion.
Elgin County Warden Tom Marks noted Friday at the re-opening, it will now be able to continue to operate as a moveable bridge extending its lifecycle another 25 years.
