This summer, 94.1 myFM and Elgin County Tourism bring you Destination Local.
It’s one of a kind, and it’s right here in our own backyard. Located at 1 Centre Street in St. Thomas, just half a block from the famous Jumbo Memorial, the St. Thomas Elevated Park needs to be on your list of spots to hit this summer.
The park in the sky, which is situated some 95 feet over the Kettle Creek valley, is Canada’s first and only elevated park.
Built through 100 percent community donations and volunteer efforts, the signature tourist attraction for the city features unique sculptures made by local artists, beautiful trees and flowers, with benches lining the bridge for those just wanting to take in the sights.
The 30 feet wide and 850 feet long bridge is open to the public each day from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
