The individuals at No Bad Words T-Shirt Company are on fire. They are friends at Our Place Respite in St. Thomas who are designing their own T-shirts to challenge the negative words and stigma people of all disabilities face on a daily basis. Samantha Daniels, co-owner of Our Place Respite, explains the support they have received to date.
Daniels adds the friends at No Bad Words work as a group to make all decisions related to the operation, including the tentative slogan for the first batch of shirts which will be, ‘Redefining Normal.’
The Elgin St. Thomas Small Business Enterprise Centre in partnership with the Elgin Business Resource Centre is sponsoring the new venture. She says they are finalizing the business model for the sale of T-shirts.
Through respect, mindfulness, healthy environment and positive supports, Our Place Respite believes their participants can grow to be their best selves.
Daniels explains the rationale behind the choice of ‘Redefining Normal.’
She adds, the net revenue from T-shirt sales will be paid to members of Our Place Respite exclusively.
