Some people may think opening up a new business during a global pandemic is just asking for trouble, but for Terry Dueck, owner of Snack City Popnotch, it was trouble he was trying to avoid.
Snack City Popnotch is the latest local business to join the Railway City, offering many tasty treats such as popcorn, peanuts, candy, cinnamon buns and more.
Dueck says they have a big focus on popcorn of course and only pop about 7 bags of popcorn in each batch, ensuring that their products are as fresh as possible.
He explains how to unique business idea came about.
When asked about the struggles of opening up a new business in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dueck had this to say.
Dueck says Snack City Popnotch opened their doors for a grand opening event last week and says the feedback has been great so far.
He says that supporting the local community is what it is all about and they have already started giving back through fundraisers with the OPP and special promotions, including free popcorn if it’s your birthday!
