It’s Fire Prevention Week and the St. Thomas Fire Department and Central Elgin Fire Rescue have once again teamed up to educate the public.
The theme to this years campaign is “Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen!” and the goal is to teach people about simple life saving actions to help prevent fires in the kitchen.
Both the St. Thomas Fire Department and Central Elgin Fire Rescue will be using their Facebook pages to share tips and fun activities to get the community involved in the initiative.
Their “Finding Sparky” Contest will be taking place all week. The fire departments will be posting pictures of Sparky somewhere in St. Thomas or Central Elgin and once you submit all 5 location, you will be entered to win 1 of 3 home fire safety packages.
