The St. Thomas Fire Department has teamed up with Enbridge Gas to help improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.
Our local fire department has received 264 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms through Project Zero, a public education campaign that will provide 7,500 alarms to residents in 35 municipalities across Ontario.
When properly installed and maintained, combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms help provide the early warning to safely escape from a house fire or carbon monoxide exposure.
The STFD will be distributing these alarms though community groups such as the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank, Family and Children’s Services, their Smoke Alarm Loaner Program, and more.
