St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is the recipient of close to $1.3 million in funding for this year and 2021 as part of the province’s Infrastructure Renewal Fund. The investment, announced today (Monday) is to support projects like roof and window repairs and more isolation spaces for patients.
In a media release, Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek noted it is critical the hospital receives this funding to ensure the stability of the facility’s infrastructure.
The funding is part of close to $10 million being allocated to STEGH, the London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care.
Total local allocations for 2020 and 2021 through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund are as follows:
• St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital – $1,270,171
• London Health Sciences Centre – $5,970,568
• St. Joseph’s Health Care – London – $2,275,212
