The Elgin County OPP responded to a 2 vehicle collision in Malahide on Monday that was caused by an impaired driver. Officers responded to the collision that occurred at the intersection of Imperial Road and Yorke Line around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, where an eastbound pickup truck on Yorke Line collided with a SUV on Imperial Road.
Malahide Fire Services, along with Middlesex-London paramedics attend the scene.
Following further investigation, the OPP have charged 48 year old Francis Ricica of Central Elgin with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The accused was taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released with a future court date in St. Thomas. Police report that no other injuries came as a result of the collision.
