The City’s 230 Talbot Street project is nearing substantial completion. City Staff provided council with an update on phase one of the project on Monday night (November 4) that will provide a new home for their social services department and 28 affordable housing units.
City Manager Wendell Graves says that they anticipate that in the next 3 weeks they will be able to begin to move their staff into the building.
Graves says that once they have the keys from the contractor there are still a number of things that need to be done to get the building move in ready.
Graves says that they anticipate that in the New Year they will be able to begin to transition residents into the units. A report with recommendations to council as to how the residents will be selected will be coming at a future council meeting.
