A funnel cloud was briefly spotted over the east end of St. Thomas on Monday night. Just before 7 p.m. the funnel cloud emerged, descended part way down and spiraled for close to 5 minutes before going back up into the clouds. The funnel cloud did not touch down.
The funnel cloud came from a dark system that moved from north to south through the City. There are currently no watches or warnings in place for either St. Thomas or Elgin County. We will have the latest on this system as it develops.
