With the Labour Day long weekend upon us, it’s important to know what’s open and closed in St. Thomas and Elgin County.
All municipal buildings, offices, Canada Post as well as banks in both St. Thomas and Elgin County will be closed on Monday (Sept 2).
Most grocery stores in the city will be closed including Walmart, The Real Canadian Super Store, Fresco, Foodbasics, Foodland, and Metro, however Briwood Farm Market will be open on Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Shoppers Drug Mart at 410 Talbot Street will be open on Labour Day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. M & M Food Market will also be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Monday.
Both the LCBO and Beer Store in St. Thomas will be closed on Monday but if you really find yourself in a bind, the Beer Store location on Wharncliffe Road South in London will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you’re looking for something fun to do with the family, the long weekend calls for mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low to mid 20’s, so spend what free time you have left outside enjoying the last few days of summer.
