The Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation is preparing for a leadership transition as Executive Director Natasha Newby departs at the end of April to take on a new role as Executive Director of the McCormick Care Foundation in London.
Newby has led the foundation since 2021, playing a key role in strengthening its community connections and enhancing its impact across the region. She has represented the foundation at several collaborative tables, including the Community Safety and Well-being Integration Table, Planet Youth, and the Community Action Network (CAN).
One of her notable accomplishments was expanding the 100 People Who Care initiative, growing its membership and reshaping the format to ensure more inclusive support for local charities.
“I have truly valued the opportunity to work with so many amazing community partners,” said Newby in a statement. “The connections I’ve made and the impact we’ve had together will always be dear to me.”
The foundation’s board says recruitment for a new executive director is underway, with the goal of building on the momentum established during Newby’s tenure.
