Residents in the Township of Malahide may notice temporary changes in their water supply as the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) undertakes routine fire hydrant flushing from April 7 to May 2, 2025.
The flushing process will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. across multiple areas, including: Dexter Line, Waneeta Beach, Port Bruce, Rush Creek Line, Nova Scotia Line, Copenhagen, Dixie Estates, Jamestown Line, Imperial Rd., Dingle St., Hacienda Rd., Talbot St. E., Talbot St. W., Rogers Rd., and Orwell.
The work helps maintain water quality and ensures the hydrants remain in good working order.
During this time, some residents may experience temporary water discolouration or low pressure. Officials advise running taps for a few minutes if discolouration occurs.
For more information, residents can contact Malahide’s Water Department at (519) 773-5344, Ext. 226.
