
Elgin OPP are offering residents a unique opportunity to get an up close look at policing through the Citizens’ Police Academy.
Chosen participants will learn about a broad range of specialized policing through interactive presentations every Tuesday evening over a seven-week period.
We spoke with OPP Const. Sarah Bram on what to expect at the academy.
Audio PlayerChosen participants will learn and hear presentations from areas of specialty within the Ontario Provincial Police. Such topics may include: Major Crime Investigation, Recruitment Unit, K9 Services, Emergency Response Unit (ERT), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Fraud Investigations, In-service Training (Use of Force), Forensic Identification as well as Technical Traffic Collision Investigations.

Audio PlayerThe program is tentatively scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 29 and run for seven Tuesdays at the Malahide Community Centre from 7 to 9 p.m.
A graduation ceremony will be hosted after the completion of the program.
