No injuries were reported Friday morning in a second floor apartment fire at 37 and a half Scott Street.
All residents and pets got out safely and firefighters were quickly able to knock down the flames.
There were no smoke alarms in the unit and fire prevention officer Shannon Ashton has the safety message for owners and landlords.
