St. Thomas Police responded to the area of St. Catharine and Talbot streets Tuesday for a report of an assault.
The victim provided a description and a short time later the accused was located in a traffic stop. A 24-year-old B.C. resident was arrested.
Officers learned the accused and victim had previously been in a relationship.
They were charged with assault and criminal harassment and held for a morning court appearance.
