
A 20-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.
Around 2:30 a.m., officers identified the individual, who was known to police and wanted on an outstanding warrant related to an incident in February. The warrant included charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and failure to comply with a probation order.
As a result, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to St. Thomas police headquarters for processing. During the booking process, officers discovered the individual was carrying a replica firearm, three pocket knives, a flick knife, and a makeshift billy-club.
The 20-year-old is now facing additional charges, including:
- Six counts of failure to comply with a probation order
- Five counts of failure to comply with a release order
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
The accused was held for a morning court appearance and was remanded into custody.
