
A 37-year-old St. Thomas resident has been charged with assault with a weapon after allegedly throwing coffee on another individual during an altercation.
The incident occurred on Thursday, March 20th, when officers on community patrol witnessed the dispute. Police say the accused confronted a 23-year-old who had allegedly stolen their property before pouring the coffee on them.
Following an investigation, the 37-year-old was charged with assault with a weapon, while the 23-year-old was charged with theft under $5,000.
Both individuals were taken to police headquarters for processing and released with future court dates.
