Canadian Agricultural Safety Week wraps up on Saturday, as farmers across Elgin County get ready for another busy season.
It’s been a week to highlight hazards on the farm, and there are many, as well as stress the importance of the well-being of farmers themselves.
Robin Anderson, with the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association tells us why this is the time to do this.
Audio PlayerAnderson says the top three ways people are killed on the farm includes runovers, rollovers and pin and struck incidents…as machinery can be a major hazard.
Anderson adds it’s also important for farmers to do a wellness check on themselves, are they getting enough sleep, eating well…how’s their mental health?
