A 72-year-old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and is now facing additional charges following two separate incidents on Monday.
According to police, officers on community patrol located the individual, who was known to be wanted on an outstanding probation warrant. The person was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed, and released on an appearance notice.
Shortly after their release, officers were contacted by a local cab company reporting that the same individual had failed to pay for their fare.
As a result, the 72-year-old has been charged with transportation fraud and failure to comply with probation.
Police have since requested a warrant for the individual’s arrest.
