Voter turnout saw a slight increase in both Elgin-Middlesex-London and across Ontario in this year’s provincial election, compared to the previous vote in 2022.
Across the province, 45.4% of registered voters cast their ballots, up from 44.06% in 2022. That translates to just over 5 million of Ontario’s 11,065,813 registered electors participating in the election.
Locally, Elgin-Middlesex-London saw even higher engagement, with 49.45% of registered voters heading to the polls.
That’s up from 44.78% in the last election, reflecting increased participation from the riding’s 104,065 eligible voters.
While voter turnout remains below 50%, the bump in participation suggests a growing interest in local and provincial issues, such as healthcare, affordability, and housing.
