
A 43-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing multiple charges after a family dispute allegedly turned violent Thursday afternoon.
Police responded to a 911 call around 3 p.m. from a victim reporting that a verbal altercation with a family member had escalated into a physical assault.
They say the accused allegedly had a knife and caused damage to a vehicle before leaving the scene.
Officers were given a description of the suspect, who was located nearby and taken into custody.
The individual was transported to police headquarters and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Mischief under $5,000
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition/weapon
The accused was held in custody for a court appearance Friday morning.
