Families and theatre enthusiasts are in for a treat this March Break as Port Stanley Festival Theatre welcomes Emilio’s A Million Chameleons to the stage.
Created by internationally-celebrated puppeteer Adam Francis Proulx, this vibrant and interactive puppet show combines music, magic, and circus-style fun, making it an engaging experience for all ages shared Liz Gilroy, Artistic Director at Port Stanley Festival Theatre.
The show, set to run on March 12, offers both a matinee at 1 p.m. and an evening performance at 7.
A major highlight of this production shared Gilroy, is the connection between the show and the theatre’s March Break camp. Campers not only receive complimentary admission to the performance but also get the chance to participate in a hands-on puppetry workshop led by Proulx himself.
The camp, running from March 10-14, will explore various aspects of theatre, including a behind-the-scenes look at lighting and sound production, a dance workshop featuring choreography from Wicked, and a live performance by Dan the Music Man.
And with a week geared towards the youth of our community, Gilroy hopes this is just the beginning.
Adding that getting kids into theatre early is such a benefit to their young minds.
Tickets for Emilio’s A Million Chameleons and further details on the March Break camp are available through the theatre’s website at www.psft.ca or by calling the box office at 519-782-4353.
