The Aylmer Police Service Board has announced the appointment of Chris Johnson as the next Deputy Chief of Police, effective January 20, 2025.
Johnson, a 23-year veteran of policing, joins the Aylmer Police from the St. Thomas Police Service, where he most recently served as Staff Sergeant of a uniform patrol section.
His extensive experience includes drug enforcement and specialized investigative services, making him a valuable addition to Aylmer’s police leadership team.
This appointment follows Chief Zvonko Horvat’s upcoming retirement and the promotion of Deputy Chief Kyle Johnstone to Chief of Police in the new year.
“I am very pleased with the choice of the board. Chris is an extremely well respected police leader, who will bring a modern vision to our service as we continue to move forward. This is an exceptional addition for our service and the town” said current Deputy Chief Kyle Johnstone.
