My Broadcasting Corporation, the parent company of 94.1 myFM, has expanded its reach into Southwestern Ontario.
The company has made a deal with Rogers Sports & Media to purchase EASY 101.3 (CKOT-FM) and Country 107.3 (CJDL-FM) in Tillsonburg.
President of MBC, Jon Pole, said these stations “…will fill a void between our St. Thomas and Simcoe operations.”
The release notes that the acquisition will strengthen MBC’s position as a leading media provider in each region, adding significant value for listeners and advertisers by broadening the range of content, local news coverage, and community involvement.
MBC also acquired 92.3 JACK-FM in Smiths Falls, which will strengthen the company’s coverage in the Ottawa Valley.
The transaction is subject to approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).
