Today, over 600 climbers will tackle the TD StairClimb for United Way Elgin Middlesex taking place at Canada Life Place in London.
From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., over 80 teams from local workplaces and schools will climb over 1,000 stairs, completing two circuits of the newly renamed arena.
The annual StairClimb, now in its 28th year, aims to best last year’s total of $113,000 to fight local poverty, with all proceeds staying in the community.
“It’s amazing to see so many stepping up to make a difference,” said Kelly Ziegner, CEO of United Way Elgin Middlesex.
Funds from the event will help over 100,000 people through United Way’s network of 39 local organizations, supporting vital programs and services across the region.
